قامت منظمة الصحة العالمية بالتعاون مع القائمين بأعمال مؤسسةالملك حسين لمعالجة السرطان برئاسةالأميرة غايدة طلال, بتنظيم حلقة علمية حول " محاربة السرطان والتدخين في دول العالم النامي" وتم مناقشة ضرورة دعم المجتمع الدولي بفاعلية للبرامج التي تتناول الإكتشاف المبكر لمرض السرطان .
